About

The phenomenon of cross-education (CE) describes the increase in force in the opposite untrained limb following unilateral contralateral resistance training.

In healthy populations, the effect of EC can result in strength gains of up to 50% (in the untrained limb) compared to the improvements seen in the trained limb. In clinical populations, EC can mitigate declines in strength caused by surgery and/or immobilization.

In this Masterclass, we will explore what EC really is, assess the evidence, and most importantly, understand how to maximally deploy EC in clinical populations, including dose response and type of exercise.
