About

Michael is a physiotherapist and professor at the Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University, as well as at the Research Unit for General Practice at Aalborg University. Michael leads the "Musculoskeletal Health and Implementation" research group. The mission of MSK-Health is to generate and conduct implementation research to determine how to best support people in managing their musculoskeletal health and help them stay active throughout their lives. A large part of this research focuses on improving adolescent health. Research and implementation are carried out in collaboration with clinical practice, end-users, and stakeholders, with the goal of supporting patients, parents, and clinicians. Ultimately, this knowledge will be used to develop effective care models to support an efficient healthcare sector capable of promoting musculoskeletal health across the lifespan.

One day a week, he works at Aalborg University Hospital, where he remains closely involved in clinical research and knowledge dissemination. Michael has published over 220 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of primary healthcare, sports medicine, and physiotherapy.
