Amélie Kechichian qualified as a physical therapist in 2016. She went on to pursue a Master’s degree, which led to a six-month research internship in 2019 at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Centre in Montreal, focusing on the implementation of an advanced practice model in physical therapy for patients with chronic pain.
Upon returning to France, she began a PhD with the Themas team at the TIMC laboratory of the Université Grenoble-Alpes, under the supervision of Professors François Desmeules and Nicolas Pinsault. Her thesis, titled "Physical therapists as first-line providers in the management of acute low back pain: implementation and evaluation of a new care model in health centers," was publicly defended in December 2023.
As part of her doctoral work, she completed another research residency in Montreal to study the implementation of an advanced physical therapy practice model within emergency departments.
Amélie Kechichian now works as a researcher at the UGA’s TIMC laboratory. She is also a lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy at the UGA and maintains a clinical practice at the Saint-Martin d'Hères Interprofessional University Health Center.
